Dez’arae Adams, M.A., is an accomplished educational leader and advocate with more than 15 years of experience advancing educational equity, community engagement, and systems improvement across Michigan. Throughout her career, she has worked to expand opportunities for children and families while strengthening the systems designed to serve them.

Currently serving as Director of Early Childhood at Wayne County RESA, Dez’arae leads countywide initiatives supporting high-quality early childhood programs, strategic partnerships, and equitable access to educational opportunities. She collaborates with educators, community organizations, policymakers, and families to develop sustainable solutions that improve outcomes and create lasting community impact.

A doctoral candidate in Education, Dez’arae’s research focuses on instructional coaching and strengthening teaching practices to improve outcomes for young learners. Her work reflects a deep commitment to service, collaboration, and strategic leadership, as well as a belief that informed and engaged citizens are essential to building stronger, more equitable communities.

As a Trustee on the BlackCount Board of Directors, Dez’arae brings extensive leadership experience and a passion for civic engagement, voter education, advocacy, and leadership development. She is committed to helping BlackCount amplify Black voices, inspire civic participation, support Black leaders, and create meaningful change throughout Southeastern Michigan.
