Communications Strategist • Community Advocate • Equity Leader

Brande Johnson is a communications strategist and community advocate dedicated to advancing equity, civic engagement, and social impact within the communities she lives in and is surrounded by. With a strong background in strategic communications, organizational development, and community organizing, Brande has spent her career creating platforms that amplify underrepresented voices and strengthen collective action. 

Currently working in a Communications Specialist role, she leverages her expertise in storytelling, program coordination, and stakeholder engagement to drive mission-based initiatives that foster inclusion and empowerment. 

Brande is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, where she continues her lifelong commitment to service, scholarship, and sisterhood. Her work and community involvement reflect a deep dedication to empowering others through intentional leadership and collaborative values that align closely with BlackCount’s mission to ensure black voices are counted, black leaders are supported, and black communities thrive. 

As a member of the BlackCount Board of Directors, Brande brings her passion for civic engagement, belief in the power of collective action, and vision of building equitable systems that create lasting change.
